As an education candidate, I understand the importance of showing professionalism. I understand that as an educator, I will be held to the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality. From my attached FEX evaluation forms, we can see that I have taken a leadership role by being highly proactive in serving students and taking a role in decision-making to ensure the highest professional standards are being followed. I have been recommended as an education candidate by past cooperating teachers and have created professional resources through my actions within my placements. I feel as though all students deserve the same amount of love and respect, so I believe in challenging the negative attitudes or practices in place to ensure that all students, particularly those traditionally underserved, are honored in the school. No matter what background students may come from, they all have the same right as humans to be able to learn. It is my goal to make learning a fun and safe environment where all of my students can feel seen and appreciated within learning. This also follows my educational Philosophy and the studies of Abraham Maslow and his hierarchy of Needs Theory. Abraham Maslow states that learning and development can only be built upon if basic needs are met. I believe that all students should have basic needs so that they are motivated and want to learn. We can see from my attached FEX time logs that I take pride in being on time and hold myself to high professional standards by doing so. We can also see that I display professionalism in the way that I dress through the pictures that I have provided. I hold myself to a very high standard as an educator because I want to portray myself in a very professional and respectable way to my students, their families, and my colleagues. I strive to always take on leadership roles to ensure that those around me see me as a positive asset to their team and feel free to ask me for assistance or participation in events. Showing professionalism is a way to show that the profession you choose matters to you and that you take pride in it. Education is a career that I take extreme pride in, which is why I want to be the best candidate that I can be not only for myself, but also for those I interact with.
